Which Parisian Arrondissement Should You Visit Based on Your Style?

City of Lights, Love, Culture you name it, Paris has a lot to offer, but what would Paris be without her people. The parisians make the city hum and buzz; Dashing for taxis, strolling down grand boulevards, whilst concocting their latest opinion on whatever’s new and boldly displaying their own version of the latest trends. Find out here which type of Parisian you are based on your style.

If you’re: Prim and Proper

You’re a: Parigot

In Paris, you should visit: 16ème Arrondissement

Place: Jardin du Trocadéro

Arnaud Frich

You are the original Parisian. The word Parigot is actually slang for Parisian, used by all those who do not come from the capital city. You feel at home in the 16th district, and you ride your bike home from work in Business Attire with a baguette under your arm. For you, there’s no place like home, Paris is the best city on earth. You are happiest in your element, with a glass of red wine in hand, viewing the latest exhibition at an art gallery. Weekends you walk your french bulldog, and pause to read a book in the shade on a park bench in the gardens under the eiffel tower with a jambon beurre sandwhich.

If you’re: All about vintage

You’re a: St. Germainer

In Paris, you should visit: 6ème Arrondissement

Place: The Rive Gauche and “Les Deux Magots”

Les Communes

St. Germainer

You would fall head-over-heels for old-style Paris. The Rive Gauche was and still is today the place for intellectuals, artists, and musicians. It’s where you’ll partake in long drawn-out promenades strolling through cobblestone streets under the golden rays of ornate street lamps. Mingle with the Parisian elite who gather at the famous “Les Deux Magots” and “Café Flore” where American ex-pats like Hemingway and Whitman found inspiration. Sip an espresso, languidly leaf through the paper, or hold lengthy conversations about politics, art, and love. St. Germain is perfect for you, and it’s as authentic as Paris gets.

If you’re: Obsessed with Labels

You’re a: Fashionista

In Paris, you should visit: 8ème Arrondissement

Place: Raspoutine Club or Rue St. Honoré

Noctis Collection

Just like in all the major cities of the world, Paris has it’s own high fashion crowd. The ones who look like they might have just strolled off a red carpet, or stepped off the runway. You can be a part of this it-crowd by hitting up all of the Parisian Hot spots. Sip on a tasty White Peach Bellini in the Russian Baroque decor of the almost impossible to get into Raspoutine Club. Spend countless hours heading from boutique to boutique on Paris’s famed Rue St. Honoré. Be audacious and take fashion to the next level, by showing off your flashy looks. You are a Parisian Fashionista if your drink of choice is Champagne. Your look of the day is what everyone else will be wearing tomorrow.

If you’re: Hip and Cool

You’re a: Street Parisian

In Paris, you should visit: 10ème Arrondissement

Place:  Canal St. Martin and Chez Prune

Babs Armour

Street Parisian

The passerby’s do a double take on you in the metro to try and take a mental picture of your all too cool outfit. From head to toe everything is perfect, and you mean business. You like to sip rosé along the Canal St. Martin and order a meat and cheese plate at Chez Prune, as your aperos turn into all nighters when you shimmy along to the beats on the rooftop terraces. You’ve got a flower in your hair, and can slalom on a long board like it’s nobodies business.

If you’re: Over 30 and still going strong

You’re a: Bobo

In Paris, you should visit: 3ème Arrondissement

Place:  The Marais and The Perchoir

The Tourist In Paris

No one knows how old you are; You’re definitely out of college, and  pushing a baby stroller but you look so great doing it, that people start to wonder.  You live life to the fullest, albeit there were a few mistakes made in your younger years, but now there is nothing left to do but sit back and enjoy life. Your biggest problem is finding the best place to have Brunch this weekend, and  you try to spend as many weekends as you can gazing into the sunset on the french riviera. Your look is cool, calm, and collected with a tinge of when I take my jacket off things can still get crazy.
